Your data, in plain English
Last updated September 30, 2026
CartMyMeals plans meals around your goals and builds a grocery list. It is built and run by Apoorva Patki. This page explains what it stores and why. It never sells your data and never buys anything for you.
Using it as a guest
Your profile (diet, calories, protein, allergies), pantry, week and staples are saved in your own browser. They are sent to our server only to plan your week and build your list, and are not kept there unless you save something.
If you sign in with Google
We receive your Google account id, email address and name, and keep them with your saved profile, pantry, week and shopping lists so they follow you to any device. We do not get your Google password, contacts or anything else from your Google account.
Things you choose to save or send
- Saved lists and links store your diet summary, meals and shopping items, under a random link. No name or email unless you are signed in.
- Feedback stores your message, and your email only if you give one so we can reply.
- Receipt photos, if that feature is on, are read by Anthropic’s Claude to fill your pantry, then discarded. They are not stored.
Analytics
We count anonymous events, such as how many weeks were planned each day, and use Vercel Analytics for page views. Neither uses advertising cookies or identifies you.
Services we rely on
Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), Google (sign-in), Shopify (product search, with no personal data) and Anthropic (receipt reading). When you press Send to Walmart, you go to Walmart’s website, and Walmart’s own privacy policy applies there.
Deleting your data
Signed in: Your account deletes any saved list, or your whole account with everything in it. Guest: clear this site’s data in your browser. To remove a saved link or feedback, send a note and it will be deleted.
