MCP server
Use CartMyMeals from inside Claude
CartMyMeals is also an MCP server, so an AI assistant can plan a week, swap meals and build the grocery list with the same rules as this site. Every number is computed, and nothing is bought: the person reviews the cart and pays at the store.
Connect
Server address (Streamable HTTP, no sign-in):
https://cartmymeals.com/api/mcp
- Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, and paste the address.
- Other apps: any client that supports remote MCP servers over HTTP.
Then ask, for example: “Plan a vegetarian week for two adults and a 6-year-old who’s allergic to nuts, with something fun on Friday, and give me the Walmart cart link.”
Tools
describe_household: A sentence about who’s eating becomes a profile: diet, adults and kids, allergies, cuisines.plan_week: Seven days of meals from real recipes, with computed calories and protein. Add a wish and CartMyMeals arranges it from the rule-filtered shortlists.replace_meal: Swap or remove meals. A swap must be one of that meal’s alternatives, so it can’t break the diet or an allergy.search_recipes: Find recipes by name or ingredient.get_recipe: Ingredients in amounts for the household, method, nutrition and source.shopping_list: What to buy after the pantry, rounded to what stores sell, with a link that fills the person’s own Walmart cart.
Guardrails
- Tools only read and plan; there is no checkout or payment tool.
- Diet and allergy filters run before anything is returned, and a swap outside a meal’s alternatives is refused.
- CartMyMeals arranges weeks only from the recipes the rules retrieved; a pick outside them is dropped.
- The same daily limits as the site apply.
